With the Yamaha Pacifica SC P11SM Black Metallic, the Japanese musical instrument manufacturer Yamaha is expanding its award-winning Pacifica range with interesting new singlecut designs. The Japanese-made instruments focus on tonal diversity and are aimed specifically at guitarists in search of new expressive possibilities. To achieve this, Yamaha relies on a multi-faceted combination of a Reflectone EH7n humbucker and Reflectone HT7b single-coil. Developed with none other than Rupert Neve, the pickups offer a wide range of tonal possibilities between traditional vintage twang and more modern overwound sounds thanks to an additional focus switch for the single-coil. The high-quality hardware selection from Gotoh also comes from Japan and features practical locking tuners and a classic Gotoh BCTS1S bridge with 3-barrel brass string saddles.
