The Yamaha RGX 121 Z BL Satin Black represents amazing value yet the quality is everything you would expect from a Yamaha electric guitar. The RGX121Z features include a solid basswood body, sleek, Ty Tabor Silhouette contours, a genuine rosewood fingerboard, bolt on maple neck and a vintage style tremolo bridge. The combination of two powerful humbuckers and one single coil pickup in a triple pickup configuration with 5 position lever pickup switch, offers an extensive range of tone.
I had the chance to use this guitar for a bit and heres my short term opinion of it.
The guitar is confortable for players with short and long arms alike so you shouldnt have problems in that department.
The guitar is well suited for a few styles but metal per example is not one of them, this guitar is more well suited for simpler styles.
The contruction is of good quality but nothing stellar, still its made by yamaha which gives you an idea of what to expect.
In terms of performance the sound is quite good, but the guitar lacks some sustain in comparison to other types of wood and contruction.
The pickups are decent but nothing to write home about, this is certainly an entrance level guitar and you should shoot for something abit more pricey if you intend on doing any kind of profissional work with the guitar.
Also keep in mind that the tremolo on this is terrible and you shouldnt use it unless you really enjoy tunning your guitar alot.
nice performance for intermediate guitarists! not bad for a good sound! for a quality and professional sound, a higher and pricey guitar is preferable
