Compact active loudspeaker for flexible PA and monitor applications

The dB Technologies B-Hype 8 is the compact entry into the B-HYPE series and, despite its size, impresses with an integrated DSP in 48 kHz/24 bit. The combination of 8" woofer and 1" tweeter produces a transparent, musical sound with a frequency range of 57-19,700 Hz (-6 dB). The wide dispersion angle ensures even coverage of the audience - ideal for small to medium-sized sound reinforcement situations.

For power, dB Technologies relies on a custom-made Class D power amplifier with passive cooling, which provides up to 260 watts peak. The slim, unobtrusive design adapts well to different applications: The robust polypropylene housing and full metal front grille provide reliable protection in mobile applications. Thanks to the 36 mm stand flange and monitor option, the B-Hype 8 is suitable both as a full-range loudspeaker and as a stage monitor.

A combo input (XLR/jack) and a balanced XLR link out are available on the clearly laid out rear panel. The input sensitivity can be switched between line and mic using a switch. Volume and preset/EQ boost are also directly accessible. Status LEDs for signal, limiter and power provide information on the operating status at all times. All in all, the B-Hype 8 is a compact, practical solution for speech, playback, rehearsal rooms, monitoring and smaller live events.
