What to do if the nail is broken?

This problem is probably faced by every classical guitarist and also the fingerpicker sooner or later once.

And many improvised solutions have been found in this field: artificial fingernails, parts of ping-pong balls attached with super glue...

Only a minimum of own nail is necessary to ensure the seating strength. Before the first use, the pick has to be adjusted to the player's finger.

Instructions for use: First of all, the firmness of the pick must be optimised. This is achieved by filing the inside of the plucking surface of the pick to exactly fit the shape of the user's fingers.

Guide the file to minimize the foreign body feeling under the nail.

Now place the pick firmly over the finger and under the nail for manicuring. For this purpose, the edges of the fingernails, especially the outer corners, should also be filed round. Prepared in this way, the pick can then be shortened to the desired length with nail clippers and a file. To make the pick more flexible, the pressure band can be removed completely or partially.
