Experimental granular processor for creative sound research

With Evil Pet, Endorphin.es presents a granular processor in a compact desktop format. The friendly housing colour and the clearly arranged number of parameters invite you to take a playful approach to granular processing. Functionally, Evil Pet is somewhere between an 8-voice granular synthesiser, a tape loop-like effects processor and a granular sampler. This magic box is played with the play button and/or in a polyphonic context via the MIDI input. Thanks to MPE-MIDI and full MIDI implementation, expressive handling of the audio material is also possible.

The device has four different audio sources: Audio input, loading samples from MicroSD card, built-in microphone and FM radio receiver. A foldable radio antenna is included in the scope of delivery. All signal sources can be recorded and processed immediately, allowing for a universe of experimental approaches, especially with the microphone and radio receiver.

The specific granular parameters Position, Size, Pitch and Grains allow you to manoeuvre through the audio material, narrow down areas and change the pitch. The slightly resonant filter and the shimmer reverb effect give each sound a special finishing touch. An ADSR envelope is used for final level control. Furthermore, Evil Pet offers a randomiser and three LFOs, which allows for super-complex sound shifts.
