The Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary Burl Natural Gloss at a glance:
The Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary Burl Natural Gloss celebrates two decades of the Fame brand with a strictly limited special edition that combines premium tonewoods, modern features, and exceptional playing comfort. Its slim mahogany body is topped with a striking burl maple veneer, showcasing stunning visual detail while offering a comfortable playing experience. Generous cutaways provide effortless access to every fret along the traditionally set-in mahogany neck. The flat "D" neck profile fits comfortably in the hand, allowing riffs and licks to flow naturally across the smooth ebony fingerboard – accented by a special '20th Anniversary' inlay at the 12th fret. When plugged in, the classic combination of a Seymour Duncan SH-2n Jazz in the neck position and a Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB at the bridge delivers a wide tonal spectrum, from clean pop textures and expressive blues to high-energy rock. The sound palette is further expanded by a coil-split function, unlocking authentic single-coil tones. Additionally, an integrated piezo pickup system delivers rich acoustic-like sounds, offering incredible tonal versatility and expressive possibilities. Premium hardware rounds out the package, including a Tune-o-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece and high-precision Gotoh locking tuners, ensuring tuning stability and solid performance, whether on stage or in the studio.
With two Seymour Duncan humbuckers and a piezo pickup system in the bridge, the Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary Burl delivers versatile sounds.
Seymour Duncan humbucker for sounds between Blues and rock
Thanks to its versatile pickup configuration, the Fame Forum IV Modern offers impressive tonal flexibility. Equipped with a Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan SH-2n Jazz at the neck, this proven humbucker pairing delivers the perfect sound across genres, from blues and pop to rock and even metal. The bridge pickup stands out with its high output and punchy, mid-focused tone that cuts through any mix with ease, while the neck pickup offers smooth, vintage warmth and rich sustain, bringing every note to life. With the addition of a coil-split function, the Forum IV Modern also provides authentic single-coil tones – characterized by that classic bell-like clarity and crisp articulation – making it an exceptionally versatile choice for any musical style.
The front volume control is designed as a push/pull pot and activates the piezo. The humbuckers can be split into single coils using the mini switch.
Piezo pickup system
In addition to its magnetic pickups, the Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary is equipped with a Graph Tech Ghost piezo system, seamlessly integrated into the bridge and powered by an active preamp. Activated via the push/pull function on the front volume control, the piezo delivers authentic acoustic-style tones – characterized by sparkling highs and the distinctive attack you'd expect from an acoustic guitar when amplified. A separate rear-mounted potentiometer allows you to adjust the piezo volume, enabling perfectly balanced blended tones with the magnetic Seymour Duncan pickups for even greater sonic versatility.
The Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary Burl Natural Gloss has a body made of khaya mahogany, while the glued neck is made of sapele mahogany.
The Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary is equipped with Gotoh locking tuners for precise tuning and quick string changes.
Hardware from Gotoh and GraphTech
Last but not least, the Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary Burl impresses with its high-quality hardware, delivering rock-solid performance both on stage and in the studio. From the classic stopbar tailpiece, the strings pass over a Graph Tech ResoMax Tune-O-Matic bridge, which features graphite String Saver saddles that also house the integrated Ghost piezo elements. At the headstock, a Black TUSQ nut – also from Graph Tech – ensures optimal string guidance and tone, while precise Gotoh locking tuners provide tuning stability and fast string changes.
High playability and careful wood selection
The Fame Forum IV Modern 20th Anniversary Burl is crafted in Europe by experienced luthiers, impressing with its carefully selected tonewoods and flawless workmanship. The body is made from Khaya mahogany, topped with a striking poplar burl veneer whose unique grain is beautifully highlighted by the high-gloss finish. A sharp, contoured arch top with a recessed cutaway ensures effortless access to all registers – an elegant visual and ergonomic highlight. The sapele mahogany neck features a well-balanced “D” profile that fits naturally in the hand, making every note on the ebony fingerboard feel smooth and effortless to play.

Excerpt: Otherwise, perfection down to the last detail. The unlacquered satin surfaces convey an extremely pleasant feel, the ergonomics a high level of playing comfort. Schaller hardware, Seymour Duncan pickups and GraphTech Ghost Piezo Bridge with corresponding Preamp - that's how you score plus points. Last but not least, the sound of both guitars is absolutely convincing and, thanks to their very good resonance characteristics, excellent dynamics and stable Sustain, they can also be used for a wide range of different musical genres.

I've REALLY gelled with this guitar. First thing first the wood on this guitar and the craftsmanship are TOP notch. I was not impressed with the electronics the Duncan pickups, while a classic combo, didn't suit my needs. I put shur thornbuckers in right away. While the piezo pickups are graphtech the preamp is not, I changed that out as well. I also added a tone control and removed the piezo switch for a piezo volume (can be done with a mini pot). As you can see I'm super particular about my electronics so I don't fault fame, especially at this price. I will be buy another one! But, can we get a few more color options for the semi hollow!???
