The FAME Hybrid PRO E-Drum Set in the new Chrome Edition is a professional e-drum kit that, together with the Hybrid PRO drum module in the exclusive Simon Phillips and Marco Minnemann Edition, delivers an incomparable playing and sound experience. Users have an impressive 4 GB of storage space for sounds. The Chrome Edition comes with a high-quality chrome-plated drum rack and the professional Fame SDS-8000 snare stand.
The large mesh pads, with 10" toms and 12" snare and kick, provide perfect rebound and an exceptionally realistic playing feel. Three matching cymbal pads, a real hi-hat, and a professional single kick pedal complete the hardware package, which is unique in this price range. This is a truly professional set that meets even the highest demands. The Hybrid PRO drum module offers features unmatched in this segment. In the exclusive Simon Phillips and Marco Minnemann Edition, it comes preloaded with 12,500 individual samples, carefully processed into more than 400 multi-layer sounds. Thanks to its high-end D/A converters, the Hybrid PRO delivers powerful, realistic sound through its 4 + 2 direct outputs, making it a true all-rounder for both stage and studio.
A full 4 GB of flash memory is available for custom samples, loops, and songs. With 12 separate trigger channels plus additional hi-hat and ride control, the ultra-fast Hybrid PRO interface ensures latency-free performance across a wide dynamic range. In addition to the snare rim, another pad can be connected to the kick input via the included split cable.
External signals, such as monitor feeds, can be routed through the line-in. A special highlight is the four direct outputs (mono), which can be extended to a stereo output via the headphone jack if required. With flexible routing, individual instruments or groups can be sent separately to the mix, and backing tracks or the metronome can also be directed there, making it perfect for live use.
The Hybrid PRO offers optimal output solutions for every application, from a simple stereo headphone mix to complex monitor and playback setups.
Experience the high-end sounds recorded in the studio by Simon Phillips and Marco Minnemann. Both drummers are legends in their field: Simon Phillips shaped generations of players with his work in TOTO, while Marco Minnemann has earned a reputation as a versatile live and studio drummer, performing with Paul Gilbert, the Buddy Rich Big Band, Udo Lindenberg, and NENA among many others. The 4 GB sound module contains around 400 multi-layer sounds made from 12,500 individual samples, leaving about 2 GB of memory free for your own content. Phillips and Minnemann recorded their drum sets in a Los Angeles studio and optimized them for the Hybrid PRO in collaboration with our development team. The drums and cymbals were recorded in multiple styles, using elaborate multi-miking and various mic positions.
At Fame, multi-layer means each instrument is captured at multiple volume levels. This ensures that not only volume but also tone and frequency response change with playing intensity. Some sounds include up to 127 individual layers.
Alongside the multi-layer samples, another feature ensures the ultra-realistic Fame sound: depending on velocity and playing style, output samples vary slightly, eliminating the “machine gun” effect often heard in other e-drum sets. The Hybrid PRO produces an exceptionally natural sound with professional studio quality.
For example, when a pad is struck repeatedly, slightly different samples are triggered each time, each with its own tonal nuances. This technology clearly sets the Hybrid PRO apart from other sets in this price range. Compared with the Fame DD-ONE XT, the Hybrid PRO sometimes offers up to 100 more layers per sound.
The module is operated via five main menu items (MIXER UNIT, PROGRAM, CHANNEL, SOUND, SPECIAL). The display is divided into six sections, controlled using a rotary knob and three push buttons. Parameters can be easily adjusted within the structured menus.
The overall volume can be adjusted with the LEVEL control, which can also be decoupled to act only on the headphones if needed.
The Fame Hybrid PRO module features an open sound concept that is unique in this price range. When connected via USB, the module appears as a storage device, allowing direct access to its contents. Samples, loops, and entire songs can be dragged and dropped onto the module for instant use.
All settings kits, sounds, presets, triggers can be managed via PC or Mac, similar to working with files on a desktop. With the free software editor, custom kits can be loaded with sounds and songs, allowing you to create a setlist-specific kit order for concerts. Multi-layer sounds with up to 127 velocity levels can also be created from your own WAV files, such as recordings of an acoustic kit.
The beta version of the Fame Software Editor is available for download (please read all accompanying notes).
Conventional WAV files (16-bit/44.1 kHz stereo) can be loaded via USB and assigned to kits. Playbacks, sample tracks, and loops can be triggered directly, and pads can be assigned to start, stop, or pause playback.
The integrated metronome is optimized for live use as well as practice. Custom metronome settings can be saved with each kit. Various time signatures, accents, and sounds can be programmed, including one- or two-bar count-ins where the click automatically stops.

The Chrome Edition includes cymbal pads with excellent response and realistic feel. The 12" ride pad features three zones (bell, bow, edge) with individual samples. The Hybrid PRO ride cymbal plays just like an acoustic cymbal.
Two 12" crash pads deliver top-quality sounds recorded in Simon Phillips’ studio. Each crash pad includes two zones, allowing flexible sound assignment. The cymbal pads produce very little noise, making them suitable for home practice without disturbing neighbors. All pads are mounted on sturdy, adjustable holders.
The 12" hi-hat pad is mounted on the professional Fame HH-9000 stand, built for maximum stability and smooth action. With double-braced legs, rubber feet, and adjustable height (78–100 cm), it can be adapted to any player. Spring tension is continuously adjustable to customize resistance.
Like an acoustic hi-hat, it opens and closes with the foot pedal. The sensor tracks degrees of opening, delivering authentic playability. The dual-zone pad (edge and surface) outputs detailed multi-layer sounds.

The 12" Fame kick pad provides realistic rebound and playability. It supports double pedals, so players have full flexibility. The included Fame FP-9001 single pedal features a robust double-chain drive, non-slip tread plate, and extensive adjustment options. Its design allows fine-tuning of spring tension, pedal resistance, and speed for any playing style.
The Chrome Edition includes a 12" stereo snare pad and a 12" kick pad, plus four 10" tom pads dimensions comparable to an acoustic kit. Pads from other manufacturers (Roland, Yamaha, 2Box) are compatible with the Hybrid PRO module.
Fame mesh heads can be tensioned with a standard drum key, allowing players to adjust rebound to match their style. The feel closely mirrors acoustic drums.

The Fame Hybrid PRO E-Drum Set Chrome Edition offers two options for mounting the snare pad: You can attach the snare directly to the rack, for which a pad holder is included. The advantage here is that the Fame drum kit can be set up in a more space-saving and practical way. However, if you want to exploit the full potential of the snare pad, you should mount the snare on the SDS8000 snare stand supplied. This provides much better support, even when playing hard. On the rack, the pad can come loose and change position with extremely hard hits - this does not happen with the Fame snare stand! The professional snare stand also has solid rubber feet and infinitely variable adjustment options on all joints.
The response of the snare on the SDS8000 stand is extremely sensitive and realistic, as the pad is decoupled from the vibrations of the rack.

As a Fame Hybrid PRO customer, you can now expand your module with additional sounds that can be accessed directly. These are authentic, modern cymbal and drum sounds recorded exclusively for us in a professional studio. For the cymbal sounds, a Zildjian K Custom Dark set and a Meinl Pure Alloy set were sampled. All sounds were captured using the multi-mic method, with six microphones for each sample. For the drum sounds, the legendary Sonor Hilite series was sampled. Three high-quality kits were created with different tunings, head types, and post-production parameters: a prog kit, a rock kit, and a gated reverb kit. Together, they provide outstanding versatility for a wide range of styles and songs.
