The Fame Spruce Standard Uke is the latest model in the Standard Series, expanding it to a stunningly beautiful concert ukulele made from the finest materials. With its solid spruce top and laminated mahogany body, it produces a distinctly balanced sound suitable for both vocal accompaniment and professional solo playing. For this purpose, it also features a pickup for amplified playing, which makes the ukulele fit for the stage and the recording studio. An included gig bag with backpack strap and accessory pocket rounds out the model's features and guarantees safe and easy transport to the gig, recording studio or rehearsal room.
Due to its well-swinging solid top, the ukulele produces an assertive sound for professional use that fills the stage to the fullest. For this, the manufacturer relies on spruce, which enjoys great popularity in guitar-making for the production of high-quality instruments. Thus, the wood species develops a transparent sound with strongly present highs, which stand out due to a lightning-fast response. Over time, spruce furthermore develops tonally and increasingly convinces with its great sound characteristics. Meanwhile, the mahogany body produces warm tones with a pronounced midrange spectrum.
Since the design of the concert ukulele is slightly larger than that of the well-known soprano ukulele, it has proven to be comfortable to play, especially for adults. With its 381-mm scale and 36-mm nut width, it has wider spacing between its 19 frets and the four strings, which, in combination with the easy-grip mahogany neck and cutaway, contributes to comfortable playability. Ukulele enthusiasts by no means have to do without the typical Hawaiian sound, as the tone hardly differs from the well-known sound of the soprano ukulele. In addition, the compensated plastic bridge inlay ensures perfectly clean intonation, while gold-plated open-gear tuners guarantee the necessary tuning stability.
For optimal sound transmission during amplified playing, the model is equipped with a Belcat pickup system with preamp in the upper frame. The system convinces numerous functions for the optimal adjustment of the sound. Avolume control and a 2-band equalizer with control units for bass and treble allow individual and independent regulation of the sound and adaptation to the ambient conditions. Meanwhile, an integrated tuner ensures ideal control over tuning and even allows quick correction during the performance.
