The Fender 1955 Stratocaster CC MN 2-Color Sunburst #R139490 represents the Stratocaster in its 1955 version, when the guitar model introduced the year before received its first modifications. For this purpose, the FenderCustom store in Corona, California, took numerous original measurements of authentic mid-fifties Strats to reproduce the sound, look and feel of the original as faithfully as possible and to add some contemporary features. The result is a classic Strat that is aimed specifically at vintage fans and adequately represents the sound of the golden Fender era. including case and certificate!
Lightweight ash body & quarter sawn maple neck
Particularly light ash wood is used for the body of the 1955 Stratocaster. In addition to the material, the body dimensions have also been slightly adjusted compared to the previous year's model in order to optimize the handling of the instrument and ensure more comfortable playability. The neck, made from carefully selected quarter sawn maple with vertical growth rings, provides a real fifties Strat feeling. With its 1954 U profile, it is very much in the style of the original Strat and provides a good portion of wood for secure chord playing. While the first layers of the rosewood fingerboard have a classic 7.25" radius, the higher layers offer a further 9.5" radius, making layered playing and bending much more comfortable.
Hand-wound Fat '50s single coils
What would a neat Fifties Strat be without its Fifties-style pickups? naturally, the Fender 1955 Stratocaster CC MN 2-Color Sunburst features three hand-wound Custom Shop Fat '50s Strat single coils in the neck, middle and bridge positions, which follow the classic work steps of the time and rely exclusively on authentic materials. This results in a raw but honest sound that reliably reproduces every nuance in the playing and rewards the player with the full Strat program including sparkling intermediate positions. By using the Vintage Mod #1 wiring, the 1955 Stratocaster CC MN 2-Color Sunburst has a separate tone control for the bridge pickup, while the neck and middle position share another tone control.
