Faithful replica of the 1972 semi-acoustic Telecaster
With the Fender American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline MN Candy Apple Red, Fender presents a faithful replica of arguably the best-known iteration of the popular semi-acoustic Telecaster. Based on the design conceived by the legendary German luthier Roger Rossmeisl, this electric guitar offers authentic 1970s specifications in the form of an ash body featuring resonance chambers and a triple-bolted “Micro-Tilt” maple neck. Two Fender CuNiFe Wide-Range humbuckers with the correct magnet material also ensure absolutely authentic vintage sounds, which, with their ideal combination of richness and brilliance, are perfectly suited to the classic styles of blues and rock. Naturally, historically accurate hardware, including a 6-saddle hardtail and Pure Vintage “F”-stamped tuning machines, completes the American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline MN Candy Apple Red guitar from Fender.
The Fender American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline MN Candy Apple Red combines the classic Tele feel with distinctive vintage sounds.
The ash body, featuring resonance chambers, and the comfortable maple neck are connected via three screws and the ‘Micro-Tilt’ mechanism.
Authentic Thinline construction
The construction of the American Vintage II '72 Thinline Tele naturally follows the design developed by Roger Rossmeisl, which combines the traditional Tele feel with a lively tone and comfortable handling. Thanks to its generous resonance chambers, the ash body not only impresses with its comfortable weight but also imbues the sound with a pleasantly airy acoustic timbre. The maple neck, mounted in 1970s style with three screws and the ‘Micro-Tilt’ mechanism, offers comfortable playability right up to the highest registers of the 21-fret maple fingerboard, thanks to the ‘1972 C’ profile and a fingerboard radius of 7.25" (184 mm), ensures comfortable playability right up to the highest registers of the 21-fret maple fingerboard.
Two Authentic CuNiFe Wide-Range Humbuckers promise powerful vintage sounds when plugged into a guitar amplifier.
Wide-Range Pickups with CuNiFe Magnets
Fender has chosen two Authentic CuNiFe Wide-Range humbuckers as the pickups for the American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline. Thanks to pole pieces made from the correct copper-nickel-iron magnet material and a high number of windings on the coils, the pickups combine an enormous richness of tone with the brilliance and clarity typical of Fender, so that top-class vintagesounds—ranging from soulful cleans to creamy overdrive—are available when plugged into a guitar amplifier. A classic passive electronics layout with a 3-way pickup selector switch and standard volume and tone potentiometers also provides full control over the sound of the electric guitar.
Pure Vintage Tuners with an embossed Fender ‘F’ logo keep the American Vintage II 1972 Thinline Telecaster in tune reliably and precisely.
Reliable accessories
Naturally, the Fender American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline MN Candy Apple Red is complemented by reliable components in a historically accurate vintage style. A Pure Vintage 6-saddle strings-through-body hardtail bridge is fitted. Whilst the bridge, with its strings-through-body design, enhances the guitar’s lively tonal character, six independently adjustable saddles made from curved sheet steel ensure precise intonation and comfortable string action. On the headstock, Pure Vintage "F" stamped tuners also ensure precise tuning with virtually unshakeable stability.
