Exquisite woods and high playing comfort
Todd Krause uses select woods and impeccable craftsmanship to build the Fender Clapton Stratocaster Masterbuilt. The body of the electric guitar is made of particularly light alder, while the bolt-on, one-piece neck is made of Rift Sawn Maple (maple with standing annual rings). Accordingly, the electric guitar has a well-balanced basic sound with lively dynamics. With its smooth V-neck profile, which is exactly the same as Clapton's personal Strat, the neck fits comfortably in the hand when playing electric guitar, so that between the 22 frets every lick and solo comes easily from the fingers.
The combination of Fender Vintage Noiseless Single Coils, TBX Tone Control and active Mid Boost elicits a wide variety of tones from the Fender Masterbuilt Clapton Strat.
Versatile sound through sophisticated circuitry
For electric tone conversion, the Masterbuilt Eric Clapton Signature Strat is equipped with three Fender Vintage Noiseless single-coil pickups that promise the authentic Strat sound without extraneous noise. When amplified, the electric guitar delivers a dynamic and warm sound whose bell-like tone and distinct vintage touch bring every lick and solo to life. Additional tone color is provided by the sophisticated circuitry with TBX Tone Control and active mid-range boost. The former combines a high-pass and low-pass filter in a single pot and allows the mids and highs to be emphasized when turned up, while the low frequencies are emphasized when turned down. The latter tickles the amp with up to 25 dB of boost in the character-shaping mids, so that singing notes are ready to solo with endless Sustain.
Vintage-style tuners on the headstock with the signatures of Todd Krause and Eric Clapton ensure precise tuning.
Vintage-style hardware
Completing the Masterbuilt Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster's features is high-quality vintage-style Hardware hardware. At the body, the strings are held by the classic Fender American Vintage Synchronized Tremolo, which, like Slowhand's personal guitars, is fixed with five springs and a wooden block, thus acting as a classic hardtail. At the headstock, the strings are fed over the bone nut to the Fender Vintage Style tuners , which promise long-lasting playing pleasure with precise running and high tuning stability.
