As a result of accurate laser scans of original instruments of the era with detailed color values of the Sunburst-Finish and chemical analyses of the composition of individual plastic components, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS is far more than a mere tribute instrument, but is an exact copy of the original. Authentic mahogany construction
Naturally, the original tonewood combination from Gibson Les Paul is used for the Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Washed Cherry Sunburst. The solid mahogany body without weight relief is finished with a two-piece curly maple top and a classic Royalite binding and connected to the familiar strong '50s Rounded Medium C mahogany neck via a long neck heel (Long Neck Tenon). Authentic Hide Glue is used for all gluing to create the tried and tested resonant glue joints of the '59 Les Paul.

The equally classic electrical layout, on the other hand, consists of CTS pots for Volume and Tone, paper-in-oil capacitors and a high-quality Switchcraft USA output socket.
