With the SE John Mayer Silver SkyMN Gold Spark, the iconic signature model of the American singer/songwriter and seven-time Grammy winner is now also available as part of the SE lineup. The SE John Mayer Silver Sky offers all the features that made its counterpart from the Core series an absolute surprise hit and presents brand new colour finishes as well as one or two useful adjustments that optimize the basic construction of the Silver Sky for modern applications.
Doublecut poplar body
Naturally, the body shaping of the poplar body follows the ergonomic specifications of the original and offers a comfortable playing experience both standing and sitting thanks to the practical forearm Contourand slim tummycut on the back. The classic Cutaway scoop on the lower body horn is also used, which gives the fretting hand additional freedom when playing in the high registers.
As a successful offshoot of the extremely popular Core model, the PRS SE John Mayer Silver Sky presents adapted features and new color finishes.
Maple fingerboard with Small Bird inlays
The most important distinguishing feature of a genuine PRS guitar is the classic Bird Inlays inlays! These are embedded as 'Small Birds' in the 22-fret fretboard made of maple, which now also supports precise bendings and improved handling of the high E-string with an extended fretboard radius of 8.5". On the back, the PRS SE Silver Sky features a classic bolt-on maple neck with a 635JM profile and the unique shaping of the Core model.
635JM "S" Single Coils
Three 635JM "S" single coils in the neck, middle and bridge positions of the PRS SE Silver Sky provide the right sounds in all registers. Originally designed for the US-made Silver Sky, the "S" version of the pickup is adapted to the configuration of the SE Silver Sky to elicit amazing musical qualities from the instrument's poplar body . All three pickups are wired according to the classic recipe with a 5-way blade switch, a master volume control and two additional tone controls for the neck and middle position.
