With the TherapKid Twisted Electrons brings a renaissance to the popular SID sound from the C64 computer. The digital sound generation is based on the cult chips MOS6581 and MOS6580 and even includes its multimode filter.
Sound generation
The two digital oscillators offer a total of eight waveforms, which can be individually tuned; in addition, a ring modulator can be activated. This makes surprisingly dense sound clusters, drones and chords possible. In unisono mode it gets really fat! The elaborately generated spectrum is processed by a resonant multimode filter that covers lowpass, bandpass, highpass and notch.
Modulation
The two LFOs each use five waveforms including noise, can be retriggered and looped, and can modulate up to 48 targets simultaneously! Of course, a comprehensive arpeggiator has been integrated for the authentic SID feeling. In Random Mode, TherapKid creates random sounds; ideal as a source of ideas. The instrument has 50 memory slots for your own sounds.
