The BlueBox Eurorack Edition from 1010 Music is a digital mixer featuring twelve audio inputs, effects, MIDI control and an audio recorder. This expanded and slightly modified module matches the desktop version in every respect. The twelve audio inputs can be configured into stereo pairs as desired; for example, with two stereo tracks, eight mono tracks remain. The four audio outputs are also freely assignable; in most setups, two stereo outputs will likely prove sufficient. A headphone output usefully rounds off the audio connections, allowing you to ‘listen in depth’ directly at the module. Six CV inputs greatly expand the BlueBox’s creative possibilities; when routed to panning or FX send, and with suitable CV sources, your hands are immediately free again for performance. In terms of level, the inputs handle both line and Eurorack levels. Alongside a few buttons and four encoders, the 3.5-inch touchscreen serves as the central input element. For each channel, you can adjust volume, gain, a 4-band parametric EQ, pan, mute, solo and the internal effects sends.
When it comes to effects, 1010 Music already enjoys a strong reputation in the Eurorack modular world, as the internal send effects – delay and reverb – as well as the master compressor are of a high standard. Selected tracks are recorded onto the MicroSD card in studio-grade audio quality at 24-bit / 48 kHz, including effect and routing settings. The maximum recording time depends on the capacity of the storage medium. Once recording is complete, you can simply drag the tracks from the memory card into your DAW as required and edit them there. Connectivity with MIDI equipment is designed to be flexible. To run in sync with a drum machine or a master sequencer, the MIDI inputs and outputs via TRS adapters are ideal. USB-C EXT allows you to connect a controller to handle multiple tracks simultaneously. The stereo mix is transferred directly to a DAW via USB-C DEV. The BlueBox Eurorack Edition has everything on board to serve as the central mixer and recorder in a modular system.
