The main types of guitars are electric guitars, acoustic guitars and classical guitars. Electric guitars are ideal for rock, pop, metal and modern sounds, acoustic guitars are especially suitable for songwriting, strumming and unplugged sounds, while classical guitars with nylon strings are particularly popular with beginners, for classical music and for a soft playing feel.
