In the first volume of the three-volume Saßmannshaus School "Früher Anfang auf dem Kontrabass" ("Early Beginning on the Double Bass"), the introduction with empty strings and the simplest note values is followed by the "Rufterz" as a basic and orientation interval, especially with regard to learning clean intonation. Using children's songs, which are all provided with texts, the first booklet successively inserts the first, fourth and second finger and introduces note values from the whole to eighths.
