The Ibanez Prestige AZ24047-BK Black is the perfect instrument for the modern guitarist seeking a top-class 7-string electric guitar for executing the most virtuosic playing techniques in rock, fusion or jazz contexts. The ergonomically designed alder body and bolt-on S-Tech Wood neck offer unhindered playability, whilst specially developed Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups with dyna-MIX9 circuitry deliver versatile sounds with lively articulation. Furthermore, the Ibanez AZ24047 features a high-quality Gotoh T1872 tremolo with titanium saddles, as well as Gotoh H.A.P. locking tuners.
For the ergonomically contoured body of the Ibanez AZ24047, Ibanez has selected classic alder, whilst wide cutaways and the ‘Super All Access Neck Joint’ ensure that even the highest frets are easily accessible. However, the absolute highlight of the Ibanez AZ24047 is undoubtedly the bolt-on neck made from S-Tech Wood Roasted Maple. This maple is thermally treated in a pure nitrogen atmosphere, making it resistant to climatic changes and giving it excellent resonance. The medium-profile “AZ7 Oval C” neck feels comfortable in the hand, so that even the most complex songs can be played effortlessly across the 24 jumbo-sized stainless steel frets. Fluorescent side dots ensure optimal orientation even on the darkest stages.
To ensure optimal sound reproduction, none other than Seymour Duncan has supplied the pickups for the Ibanez AZ24047. The two Seymour Duncan Hyperion single-coil pickups fitted in the neck and middle positions, together with the Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbucker positioned at the bridge, impress with a moderately increased output and a balanced reproduction of all frequencies, which, combined with the lively dynamics, perfectly supports expressive electric guitar playing. The pickups can be selected in the usual combinations using the 5-way blade switch, whilst the dyna-MIX9 circuitry provides additional options. Thus, when the ‘Alter’ switch is engaged, not only is the series connection of both single-coil pickups available, but all pickups can also be operated simultaneously.
Last but not least, the Ibanez Prestige AZ24047-BK Black impresses with its first-class hardware. The bridge is the Gotoh T1872 tremolo, developed specifically for the Ibanez AZ series, which features titanium saddles and a solid steel block to enhance the tone. With a string spacing of 10.5 mm, it also supports optimal playing technique. At the headstock, the strings are routed via a bone nut to the Gotoh Magnum Lock H.A.P. tuners, whose height-adjustable tuning posts guarantee optimum string tension.
