microKORG Crystal 20th Anniversary Special Edition
Korg microKORG Crystal with integrated vocoder and multi-mode filter
The KorgmicroKORG Crystal is a compact, powerful synthesiser featuring analogue modelling synthesis, a built-in vocoder and a multi-mode filter. With 37 velocity-sensitive mini-keys and battery operation, this synthesiser is perfect for musicians on the move. The virtual analogue sound generation features two oscillators with 71 waveforms, controlled via a clear and intuitive user interface. The built-invocoder invites you to create inspiring vocal lines played directly on the keyboard. And, of course, an arpeggiatorwith six types is a must-have!
Sound generation
The microKORG (Crystal) features the same DSP synthesis as the MS2000B, but offers more waveforms. Oscillator 1 provides 71 waveforms, including classics and new types such as Vox Wave and Cross Wave, which can, of course, be modulated. An additional 64 DWGS waveformsallow you to emulate electric pianos, guitars, basses and much more – sounds that are difficult to reproduce using analogue technology. In combination with Oscillator 2, you can also use sync and ring modulation, allowing you to create even extreme metallic sounds. With the virtual patches, you can create additional modulation chains, meaning the microKORG also offers plenty of possibilities when it comes to sound experimentation.
Filters, Amps & More
The Korg microKORG’s multimodefilterfeatures a 12dB low-pass, high-pass and band-pass filter, as well as a 24dB LPF. The resonance is adjustable across all filter modes, right up to the point of self-oscillation. In addition, two ADSR envelopes and two LFOs are available for the filter modes. In the Amp section, a distortion function can be activated alongside volume and pan. The classic ADSR envelope can be used as a modulation source and, together with the two LFO types, can generate rhythmic modulations. Effects such as vibrato, wah and tremolo are rendered seamlessly.
Happy Birthday!
To mark the microKORG’s 20th anniversary on the market, Korg is presenting its modern classic in a new look. The casing consists largely of transparent plastic elements and brushed aluminium, including the side panels. The control knobs blend in seamlessly, and even the main circuit board is white to complete the futuristic overall look.
