Sandberg uses an ash body in the Offset-Design style of the California V and a six-piece maple neck with Pau Ferro fingerboard. Specially developed for the Grand Dark Range Sandberg Plus pickups guarantee furthermore a powerful and differentiated sound. Last but not least, the Sandberg California Grand Dark is equipped with the Sandberg Bridge 4 and Sandberg tuners in a stylish gunmetal look.

The maple neck in the comfortable "C" profile is screwed six times to the alder body of the Sandberg California Grand Dark.
Traditional woods and extra-long scale
In the construction of the Sandberg California Grand Dark, the Brunswick bass builders pay special attention to a punchy sound that presents every note with tight definition, even at low tunings. Accordingly, the four-string guitar is built around an extended 35" extra-long scale (889 mm), using an ash body and a six-ply maple neck with a pau ferro fingerboard. The flat "C" neck profile furthermore creates optimal conditions for a highly comfortable playability.
With Sandberg Plus pickups and Darkglass Tone Capsule electronics providing active controls for bass, mid and high-mids, the sound can be precisely adjusted.
Sandberg Plus humbucker and Darkglass Tone Capsule
Specially developed for the Sandberg California Grand Dark are the Sandberg Plus single-coil and Plus humbucker pickups, which find their place in the middle position and at the bridge respectively. Here the humbucker convinces with its assertive and mid-emphasized sound, while the single coil convinces despite the pronounced bass foundation of a high clarity. Via the split switch, the pickup can also be split to a single coil with an extremely transparent sound. In addition, the Darkglass Tone Capsule is an extremely effective tool for sound shaping on board, which allows precise and harmonious interventions in the sound character with a bass and two mid controls.
