The ‘59 for the neck position offers a balanced tone that combines warmth and clarity. When distorted, its reduced mid-range delivers the classic ‘scooped sound’ with pronounced treble and bass. The SH-1n has a lower output than its bridge counterpart to deliver a balanced sound in split positions. Thanks to the vacuum wax potting, the humbucker is well-equipped to handle feedback issues. The SH-1’s traditional features include a nickel silver base plate, a 2-core connection cable and, of course, classic AWG42 copper wire, which has been hand-wound on Seymour’s old Leesona winding machine.
The Seymour Duncan SH-1 is a versatile P.A.F.-type humbucker, ideal for genres ranging from country through jazz and blues to heavy rock.
