TAMA Mike Portnoy Signature SnareDrum MP1455ST

The Mike Portnoy Snare 14"x5.5", Melody Maker, features a unique three-way snare strainer that offers additional sounds, tight, loose or off. This opens up a whole world of experimentation you can do. Say for example you want a tight sound during a verse, and then duing a chorus, you want a big open sound, all this is very easially achieveable with this system. If you think about it, its like having three snares in one. The drum itself has a very tight, crack sound, similar to a piccolo snare.
