The Tama PWB147-GWB Starphonic Snare 14" x 7" extends the renowned Starphonic series with a model with a particularly strong sound and high-quality appearance. The 6 mm thick shell made of American Black Walnut, supplemented by an outer layer of Black Walnut Burl, delivers a warm, full basic tone with pronounced depth and clear definition. In terms of sound, the snare convinces with its balanced response and versatility. It is suitable for finely nuanced styles such as jazz and Blues as well as for powerful applications in rock and pop. The greater shell depth of 7" provides additional fullness and projection. Typical of the Starphonic series are the GroovedHoops, which control overtones and focus rimshots, and the FreedomLugs, which enable quick and uncomplicated head changes. The Linear-Drive pickup works precisely and reliably, while the 20-spiral Hi-Carbon snare wires ensure a sensitive and dynamic response.
Manufactured in Japan, this snare combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The elegant Black Walnut Burl Finish rounds off the overall package visually and makes the snare a real highlight - both sonically and visually.
