High-resolution audio conversion and DSP

The Universal Audio Apollo Twin X QUAD G2 is a powerful desktop unit with first-class audio conversion, offering a wide range of features for professional music producers. With a 10 x 6 (in x out) configuration and QUAD Core DSP plug-in processing, it enables recording and mixing with the highest sound quality. Two Unison™ microphone preamps provide authentic emulations of classic hardware such as Neve, API and Manley, allowing you to utilise the characteristic sounds of major studio productions right from the recording stage. The integrated Hi-Z instrument input and optical Toslink input expand the unit’s connectivity options, making it highly versatile.

The Apollo Twin X is equipped with high-resolution 24-bit/192 kHz converters, offering a dynamic range of 129 dB to reproduce even the finest sonic details. Apollo Monitor Correction, powered by Sonarworks®, ensures that monitors and headphones are optimally calibrated, enabling precise sound reproduction. In addition, features such as Auto-Gain and Bass Management are integrated to guarantee quick adjustments and a balanced sound.

Comprehensive control and monitoring

The interface features built-in phantom power, which enables the use of condenser microphones and thus supports professional recordings with a high level of detail. There is also a switchable pad that reduces the input level by 20 dB to ensure distortion-free recording even with particularly loud signal sources. The Mute/Talkback button offers a simple way to communicate with the subject during recording or to mute the monitor output without interrupting the workflow.

With the UAD Console app, users can conveniently control plugin routing, monitoring and other functions such as subwoofer integration or immersive audio monitoring. The unit is compatible with over 200 UAD plugins, including classics such as the LA-2A compressors and Pultec EQs. It offers the ability to create extensive plugin chains and complex sessions by combining DSP processing with the host computer’s native processing power. The Apollo Twin X is fully compatible with popular DAWs such as LUNA, Logic Pro, Pro Tools and Ableton Live. Furthermore, the studio can be easily expanded by connecting up to four Apollo interfaces via Thunderbolt.

The package also includes a comprehensive software bundle comprising over 30 UAD plug-ins, including compressors, EQs and effects used in professional studios worldwide.
