With the Vox Valvetronix VT40X Classic Blue, British amplifier manufacturer Vox Amplification presents a completely newly developed hybrid-based modelling engine. At the heart of this compact combo amplifier is the company’s proprietary VET+ technology (Virtual Element Technology), which simulates the components and characteristics of classic valve circuits with astonishing authenticity. To remain true to the organic tube character, the amplifier features a Valvetronix preamp with a single tube and a multi-stage circuit design capable of emulating up to 11 different amplifier models. Also on board is a powerful DSP, which can be used to generate a further 13 high-quality effects. Internally, all sound creations can be saved to 33 presets, which can be expanded to up to 60 via the external ‘Tone Room’ editor.
