Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple 5-Piece Shell Set (Vintage Natural)

Expressiveness and dynamics form the sonic foundation of Yamaha’s new Absolute Maple Hybrid Drums. To achieve these characteristics, the company utilised hybrid shell technology, which has already enjoyed considerable success in the high-end PHX series. The Absolute Maple Hybrid shells, made from maple and wenge, offer an exceptionally wide dynamic range and are thus able to respond with absolute precision and accuracy to every single strike.

The shell construction

The main material used in the Absolute Hybrid Maple Drums is maple, supported by a wenge core – a very hard and heavy wood known for its exceptionally clear and precise tone. The combination of these two woods ensures a rich and clear drum sound that is not lost when played either particularly loudly or extremely softly, but instead consistently provides the Absolute Hybrid Maple drums with outstanding dynamics and expressiveness.

Hook Lugs & Y.E.S.S. III

The Hook Lugs have always been one of the reasons for the popularity of the drums from the Absolute series and are, of course, also fitted to the Absolute Maple Hybrid Drums. Thanks to these innovative lugs, changing the heads takes a fraction of the time it used to, as they can be easily unhooked from the shell. This means it is no longer necessary to completely unscrew the tuning lugs. This not only saves time but, above all, spares you the hassle, especially when you need to get things done quickly.

To further improve the vibration behaviour of the Absolute Maple Hybrid shells, the Y.E.S.S. tom suspension system has been revised and has found a more than worthy successor in the Y.E.S.S. III suspension system.
