The Yamaha KS-SW100 subwoofer incorporates a range of advanced, high-performance technologies, including the Twisted-Flare port and Advanced YST II (Yamaha Active Servo Technology II).
The Twisted-Flare-Port draws on extensive experience in subwoofer development. The flared, slightly twisted shape disperses the air vortex generated around the edge of the speaker, thereby ensuring a uniform airflow. This reduces extraneous noise that is not present in the original input signal and delivers clear, precise low-frequency reproduction.
Developed by Yamaha, Advanced YST II (Yamaha Active Servo Technology II) combines the negative impedance and constant current principles to drive the speaker cone with even greater control than the previous version. The use of advanced negative impedance converter circuits (ANIC) dynamically optimises this system
The KS-SW100 is compatible with, amongst others, the following keyboards: PSR-EW410 / PSR-S670 / PSR-SX600 / PSR-SX700 / PSR-SX900 / PSR-A3000 / as well as older PSR-S models.
I needed a subwoofer for home use to use with a Yamaha SX900 keyboard. I did not want anything fancy or expensive and this ticked all the boxes for me. The Yamaha subwoofer has added a pleasant fullness when added to the keyboard's built in speakers. It's a very basic unit but does the job perfectly. It was just too bad it came with a European mains plug that would not work in the U.K. DV247 had forgotten to include a UK adaptor which a bad oversight and meant I had to waste time phoning them up to acquire a UK adaptor to be able to use the unit.
