The Gibson 1961 ES-335 Reissue Vintage Burst from the Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee is a faithful replica of the legendary Early Sixties ES-335, offering an authentic vintage feel in look, sound and handling. In addition to the historically accurate construction, Gibson uses two custom buckers for the semi-acoustic electric guitar to conjure up the coveted PAF sound. Historically correct construction
In the construction of the 1961 Reissue ES-335, the Gibson Custom Shop follows the historically documented specifications for the popular electric Spanish design. The guitar's top, back and sides are constructed from a three-ply maple-poplar laminate and joined to the solid maple centre block to achieve an airy, resonant tone with reduced susceptibility to feedback. The mahogany neck, glued with hide glue and a long neck foot, offers extremely comfortable playing characteristics with a surprisingly slim "Authentic '61 Skinny C" profile.
The historically accurate reproduction of the 1961 ES-335 in Vintage Burst comes with a Lifton hardshell case and a Certificate of Authenticity from the Gibson Custom Shop.

With two Gibson Custom Bucker pickups, the 1961 Reissue E-335 delivers first-class vintage sounds on the guitar amplifier that skilfully capture the resonant timbre of the Electric Spanish Guitar. By using Alnico III magnets and unwaxed coils, the humbuckers offer the authentic sound character of the legendary PAF humbuckers with airy, responsive dynamics and a vocal mid-range spectrum. The hand-wired circuit with historically correct paper-in-oil caps also allows precise adjustment of the tone colour with harmonic treble roll-offs.
Historically accurate detail: Kluson tuners with double-ring wings and single-row case labelling keep the 1961 ES-335 securely in tune.
