Dingwall SP1 5: A passive multiscale monster

The Dingwall SP1 5 Vintage Burst is a real passive monster! Anyone looking for the Canadian manufacturer’s characteristic multiscale construction combined with deliberately simple, passive electronics will definitely find what they’re looking for here. The alder body is complemented by a bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, whilst the 32"- to 35"-scale length ensures balanced string tension and a precise playing feel across all five strings. In terms of tone, the SP1 features a Dingwall Dual-P pickup in the neck position and an FD3n bridge pickup, which can be operated individually or in series or parallel configurations via the 4-position Quad-Tone pickup selector. The passive electronics, featuring master volume and master tone controls, deliver a dynamic fundamental tone, whilst the Dingwall Minimalist Bridge, the Graphtech Black Tusq nut and the open-gear tuners guarantee reliable performance and precise adjustment options. The bass is complemented by a padded Dingwall gig bag, which is included with the instrument.
