The linden body of the A4 Ultra Fretless features resonance-friendly chambers and is four-bolted to the comfortable maple neck.
Semi-acoustic construction for a sonorous sound
At the heart of Godin's A4 Ultra Fretless SA Bass is a linden body with generous resonance chambers and solid spruce top, giving the sound a sonorous acoustic timbre and lively dynamics. The bolt-on maple neck impresses with extremely great playability over the bass strings vibrating with a classic long scale, while the fretless fingerboard guarantees the singing fretless sound with indulgent sound development. In addition, the thumb rest promises a high level of playing comfort.
With a Lace Sensor low-profile pickup and the RMC piezo system, Godin A4 delivers versatile bass sounds. The thumb rest supports the comfortable playing characteristics.
Flexible Bass Sound
In addition to the Lace Sensor Low-Profile Bass Pickup, which provides punchy electric bass sounds through a bass amplifier, the Godin A5 Ultra Fretless is equipped with an RMC piezo pickup system for lively acoustic tones with an upright bass character. While the Volume and Tone controls on the side of the body offer familiar control over the magnetic pickup, the piezo system features an active preamp that can be adjusted via a separate side-mounted control panel. This control section allows precise adjustment of the individual frequency bands of the 3-band EQ. In addition, a dedicated Saturation control and a Fat Switch are available to provide extra midrange presence and tonal depth.
