With the PRS SE DGT Birds McCarty Tobacco Sunburst 2026, PRS is bringing the popular Dave Grissom Signature model into the affordable SE series for the first time. The model is closely based on the US Core Pendant and incorporates all the tonal and playability refinements that the experienced session guitarist has developed over the years. A robust mahogany body in the McCarty style forms the basis, complemented by a solid maple top with an elegant Gold Top finish. The set mahogany neck, featuring the distinctive ‘DGT’ profile, ensures a comfortable playing experience, whilst the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with bird inlays emphasises the classic PRS look. To achieve the right sound, two PRS DGT ‘S’ humbuckers are fitted; with their moderate output, they deliver authentic vintage tones and, thanks to the push/pull function, can also be split to produce clear single-coil sounds. Separate volume controls for each pickup also allow for precise tone adjustment. The specification is rounded off by a PRS-designed tremolo and reliable die-cast tuners, which ensure stable tuning and precise response.
