Arturia KeyStep Pro Black Edition

The Arturia KeyStep Pro Black Edition is a successful combination of Arturia’s iconic KeyStep and BeatStep Pro controllers. A 37-key velocity-sensitive keyboard, which also features aftertouch, is the primary means of playing melodies, basslines and drum triggers. The TR grid can also be used here to place your beats precisely. Four tracks can be played simultaneously, sending their notes and commands to a total of two MIDI ports, eight drum triggers and four CV/Gate/Velocity outputs. The KeyStep Pro’s control voltage outputs can be linked together, making it possible to play a rich modular system in four-part polyphony. Of course, polyphony is also output via MIDI. The analogue clock/reset inputs and outputs can be used, for example, to synchronise a pre-MIDI-era drum machine, a Teenage Pocket Operator or the sequencer of a modular system. The metronome built into the Arturia KeyStep Pro is output as an audio signal and can be conveniently monitored via the mixer or a pair of headphones. An arpeggiator and a randomisation function provide a useful complement to this controller, which has been optimised with a focus on live performance and direct access.
